MANAGEMENT TEAM

The management and the executives of Azsa Microfinance Bank are men and women of integrity who deliver services with great passion. The Management Team of Azsa Microfinance Bank is led by Dr (Mrs.) Okereke and ably supported by competent and experienced banking professionals. This assembled team provides the bank with a solid foundation for superior service delivery.

The Board of Directors of Azsa Microfinance Bank Ltd comprises of eminent Ladies and gentlemen of integrity with diverse background.

Alhaji Garuba Ibrahim
He holds a B.SC and a Master’s degree in Economics. He spent about thirty years with the Central Bank of Nigeria rising to the position of Director. Upon his retirement from C.B.N., Alhaji Ibrahim served as an Executive Director with SME Managers Ltd, a fund Management Company (jointly owned and set up by a number of Universal Banks to manage their Small Medium Equity Investment Scheme Fund) before taking up the Directorship of Azsa MFB.

Dr. (Mrs.). Lizzy Okereke
Dr (Mrs.) Okereke studied in the United States of America where she obtained her degrees in Economics. She worked briefly with the Small Business Administration in the United States, a Government Agency set up by the US Government to assist small businesses.

Upon her return to Nigeria, she took up employment with the then Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (NIDB) now Bank of Industry taking on higher responsibilities and rising to senior management. Dr. Mrs. Okereke is a World Bank Certified Business Development Service provider. A certified trainer by Center for Management Development (CMD) and Industrial Training Fund (IFT).

Dr. Mrs. Okereke is an Executive Vice President and Council Member of the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME). She has an enduring passion for MSME development in Nigeria. She has facilitated top level training programmes both locally and abroad.

Engr. Goddie Isibor
Engr. Isibor is the Managing Director of BUA Sugar Refinery, a one hundred billion naira asset based company. Prior to this, he worked with Honeywell group, rising to the position of Executive Director.

He had the privilege of implementing the five billion naira Honeywell flour mills project located at the Tin Can Ports. He is an elder in the Grace of God Mission and a Council Member of Benson Idahosa University, Benin City.

Ejike Nwankwo (FCCA)
He read Economics at the University of Lagos. He obtained his higher degree as well as his professional accounting qualification in the United Kingdom. Mr. Nwankwo is a fellow of the United Kingdom based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

An Investment Banker of an international repute, he worked in the London Office of Merrill Lynch before returning to Nigeria where he worked with two Merchant Banks before he was head-hunted by UAC of Nigeria Plc. He held high responsibilities in the Finance and Accounting functions of the Group rising to Management position before joining Azsa Microfinance Bank as the Chairman.

Engr. E Philips
Engr. Philips is a United States of America trained Electronic Engineer and the President of Pen Biomedical Inc, a medical equipment sales and services company. He is a Director of other companies both in Nigeria and abroad.
